Data Table Block

Updated June 2026 · Custom Blocks

Use this block whenever you need to bring a table into a page. Do not use the core WordPress table block for data tables—the AWI Data Table block handles responsive layout and styling automatically.

When to Use

Use the AWI Data Table block any time you're migrating or inserting a table. See it in action on the Anti-Whistleblower Ag-Gag Policy Efforts page.

Steps

  1. Select the entire HTML table on the source page and copy it.
  2. Open a blank Google Sheet and paste the content.
  3. Export as CSV: File → Download → CSV.
  4. In the WordPress editor, place your cursor where the table should appear.
  5. Insert the AWI Data Table block.
  6. In the block settings, select the display options you need, then upload your CSV file and save the page.
  7. View the page on the front end to confirm the table imported correctly—check column alignment, wrapping, and any merged cells.

Tips

!

Clean the CSV before uploading

Google Sheets sometimes adds extra blank rows or reformats dates when you paste HTML. Scan the sheet quickly before downloading the CSV to catch any oddities.

!

Always check the front end

The block editor preview doesn't always match the live output. View the published or previewed page in a browser after saving.
